what we have to offer…
Along with traditional books, the library offers public internet access, and participates in Libby, an ebook lending program. Don’t see what you’re looking for in our library? Search in our on-line card catalog and request the materials from another Johnston County library, or from the NC Cardinal system. The requested materials will arrive for you to check out from our circulation desk. The library hosts events for multiple ages and interests, and also maintains a Little Free Library, and Community Cupboard on site.

Regularly Scheduled Events
At Princeton Public Library we have a dedicated group of families attending our weekly Story Time, which is geared to younger children, pre-first grade. Each week is themed- with stories and crafts or snacks. Sometimes there are special readers or locations for Story Time.
On the last Monday of every month, we have Spanish Story time here in the Library.
Librarian Aimee also conducts Story Time at our local Head Start twice a month.

Community Creative
A time set aside for local creatives to gather in community and work alongside one another while developing their own personal skills in the areas they currently practicing. Which areas of art? any art or craft skill with tools easily mobile, such as but not limited to: drawing, painting, clay molding, stamp carving, crochet or knitting, bead work, wood burning, writing, collage, junk journaling, etc. Our hope is to connect local creatives, and to grow our Creative Community in Princeton.

Book Club
Our book club meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 7pm in the library unless otherwise noted. We read and discuss fiction, non-fiction, bestsellers, and classics depending on the tastes of the members. Come and fellowship with friends and discuss the book each month. Click below for more information…

Homeschool Hour
An hour at the library set aside for the local Homeschooling Community. A time for homeschool families to make use of the library resources. Borrow books or movies, use the computers, check out the free little library. Start a book club, craft club, game club, chess club! Earn community service hours helping your librarians or helping with the community cupboard. The possibilities are wide open!

Princeton Pen & Ink
A Writing Club for local writers, of any degree and passion. Each meeting will include time to write, with writing prompts, and time to read aloud. Read something you have written or something you have read that inspires your writing. If anyone wishes, there will be peer reviews. This club is hosted by the library and led by a local writer.

Sit & Stitch
A once a month club for all yarn-crafters, come to the library with your current project to Sit & Stitch in community. This is a ‘floating’ club meeting, come when you are able. Most members crochet or knit, however this club is open to any yarn, or thread crafters. This club is hosted by the library, and two local yarning friends.

Java Reads
Java Reads is a Reading Club. There is no assigned reading, no reason to stay away if you have not finished the book. If you read, you are welcome! In this club, readers come together to discuss their current or favorite books or any reading they have enjoyed. Grow your TBR list by hearing about books and authors from your reading neighbors. This club hosted by our local coffee shop, Milltown Java, and led by Librarian Hilda.

Family Game Day
Friday afternoons are for Family Fun at the library. It is a time for games! Bring your favorite game to play or choose one from the library game shelf. Invite your family friends.

PALS
The Princeton Area Library Supporters believe that all people should have access to quality literature; therefore, we are committed and in support of our public library for all citizens of Princeton and its surrounding area.
PALS members host free and fundraising events for our community. Click below for more information..

Free Little Library
Our Free Little Library is conveniently located in the library lobby. Thanks to the generous book donations from our community, there are many books for all readers, especially children’s books. There is also a shelf of board books and paper back picture books for the youngest bibliophile in your life. Writers, check out the new Little Free Lit Magazine!

Community Cupboard
With community support and donations we are able to provide pantry items and toiletries to area families. The Community Cupboard is located in the library lobby, right inside the door.
A local crochet ministry made scarves and hats to donate for the winter. The Community Cupboard is available any time the library is open for donating or receiving goods. We are thankful to have a space indoors for this community service.
