Summer Break with Landon with Landon

Here we are, enjoying the end of summer 2025. Your small town library was put in storage before the old Princeton Community Building was demolished, and now your long hoped for new building is under construction, and although the library is officially temporarily closed, Princeton Public Library is still very active and continuing to serve our community in many ways. We have the huge benefit of ample support from the individuals, businesses, the town administration, and the churches of Princeton. We will have podcast episodes dedicated to more detail concerning all of the wonderful things that are happening with the Princeton Area Library Supporters and how we hope to continue serving Princeton.

If you have listened to Episode 16, you will remember that Librarian Landon embarked on an exciting new chapter of college life and headed to East Carolina University, to continue his education degree in History Education. During his summer break, he has returned home to Princeton and embraced this time with a spirit of adventure! One of the highlights of his break was a thrilling trip to Ireland!

Librarians Aimee and Hilda enthusiastically met with Landon to hear about his college life. He eagerly shared his experiences as an on-campus student and offered valuable advice for first-time college students stepping into this exciting new chapter. Landon also discussed his academic and personal plans for the future. As a true librarian at heart, he felt a magnetic pull towards campus and local libraries, driven by curiosity and the comforting atmosphere that felt like home. Landon joyfully reminisced about his delightful visit to Ireland, where he shared memorable cultural experiences, including sheep, while Aimee and Hilda envisioned their own future adventures there. The conversation also turned to a captivating book series that had enchanted both Landon and Aimee last year, sparking their imaginations and furthering their love of reading.

We discussed some news about the Princeton Public Library and all the great things happening at our small town library! We talked about the recent Author Brunch Fundraiser and updates on the construction of our new Community Building and Library. We also touched on the future growth of our town and how different generations connect with their neighbors.

As usual, we got off on several random topics of conversation, which made for a long episode. To keep the listening a little more concise, we cut and pasted a few of our rabbit trails to the end of the recording. If you enjoy hearing our extra ramblings, that are full of personal experiences and opinions (which is typical when a group of friends get together for a reconnecting chat) keep listening after the outro.

We hope you enjoy this friendly conversation.
