Puzzle Race

A fun event for the community to come together, visit the library, have friendly competition, and enjoy fellowship with friends and neighbors.

This event was such a success!

We owe a debt of gratitude to several Downtown businesses and Library friends who donated time, skills, money, and prizes!

A beautiful and delicious charcuterie board was gifted by Just Gifts.

The puzzles were donated by Jerry Jo

Gifts were donated by Milltown Java, Fragments and Fig, J&N Developers, Christy’s Boutique, Woodards Drugstore, The Bread and Bottle, local artist Tim Louveirre, and local author Hope Dougherty.

Live Music River Crossing Bluegrass Band

This event was sponsored by Johnston County Arts Council. PALS was delighted to offer a free live music event for our community. The music was wonderful. A great time with friends and neighbors!

Fundraiser Brunch

Partnering with the Johnston County Arts Council, and heavily supported by the Princeton Library Book Club and other members of the community, the PALS team hosted a very special fundraising event with USA Today Bestselling Author, Donna Everhart.

This was the first major fundraising event since the library’s move into the old community building in September of 2023, and the first fundraising event of this kind and caliber in the history of PALS.

We collectively put our shoulder to the wheel, and worked diligently to make this event a success!

More than just a Brunch, this overall event had many layers. The first was the Princeton Library Book Club reading When the Jessamine Grows, and Donna Everhart attending our July meeting. For the remaining event layers, we started planning long before July. We planned all the Brunch details, the food, decor, program, door prizes, etx. Book Club members volunteered to create book themed baskets for the silent auction. Several volunteers were busily selling tickets, and patron tiers.

Finally, the weekend of the Brunch arrived!!

We began setting up on Friday August 2nd, making flower arrangements and ironing twenty two table clothes. Saturday, the day of the Brunch, was a full plate. The tables were beautifully set. At each plate there was a gift card, index card, and Princeton Library pens for guests to write questions for Donna to answer. Fresh flower bouquets were the centerpieces. Beautifully creative book themed gift baskets, and local art work were set on display for the silent auction. Donna was set up at a book signing table for half an hour while our guests arrived, and was able to personally meet and greet many guests. At 10:00am the program began and continued smoothly until noon.

We are humbled at the outflowing of support, the positive feedback, and the donation results.
