Learning about Princeton with April Williamson

Continuing our quest to learn the history of Princeton, we interviewed long time resident April Williamson who is our current Town Clerk. April grew up in Princeton, and is now a downtown resident. Her mother, Barbara Williamson, was one of the founding members of the Princeton Woman’s Improvement Club.

April has been carrying the PWIC torch since many of the original members were no longer able to serve, keeping the historic club active with as few as 3 members. We owe them our thanks for continuing to organize the Christmas Parade each year during the lean years of membership.

Recently, April has begun to revitalize the PWIC, drawing in new members and passing the torch of responsibility to the next generation. We are looking forward to the rebuilding of the Princeton Woman’s Improvement Club. We have already asked the new president to be a guest on the podcast, and we appreciate the work this club has done for the town throughout the years.

April shared about her childhood and youth living in Princeton, she told us more about her mother’s history and long time devoted service to the Princeton Community, we discussed the old days and the days to come in our small town.
