Tippy Toes and Do-si-dos!

Tippy Toes danced into Downtown Princeton over 20 years ago, and has become a well established part of our local community, and has reached beyond the borders of Princeton to serve multiple surrounding communities in Johnston County. Librarians Aimee and Hilda were able to sit down and interview the owner and inspiration behind Tippy Toes, Leslie Flemer, and learn more the history and the passion behind this bright and lively corner of our downtown.

Leslie told us some of the interesting long time history of the two store fronts which Tippy Toes now occupies. She shared her struggles and growth during her time as owner. Historic buildings have a personality of their own and after 20 years Leslie has gotten to know and appreciate the property. As a bonus, we learned the why behind the flamingoes!

Leslie shared so much about the dance school, and its history. We learned quickly that Leslie’s heart is about more than dance, and the individual students. She truly sees and cares for the community. Her actions speak for themself. For example, the way she went above and beyond during the covid years to serve the families in the community. Listen to the podcast to find out more.

We did get around to the book question eventually, and we talked about games as well. The games and tv show conversation is pasted after the main interview. Here are some links to things mentioned in the interview:

We mostly sat back and let Leslie share, she answered most of our questions before we even asked. Her passion for her work is evident. We are truly blessed to have Tippy Toes in our community!
