Getting to Know Lifelong Resident Duane Haddock

Duane Haddock was a toddlin’ when she moved to town, this is her forever home, all she remembers. Her extended family has an even longer history in Princeton. This episode is packed full. Our topic of conversation ranged from favorite teachers and homes, favorite books, the location of past downtown businesses, and how to properly set a table.

Make sure you learn before you invite Duane over to dinner, or is it supper?

We hear about the days when farming was the typical lifestyle in Princeton, and the traffic was tractors and neighbors only, not the fast paced passing-through traffic of today and what it was like to be a child in those days of spending hours playing in the ditch, and taking turns spending the night in friend’s homes when friends were family and everyone looked out for everyone else.

Our conversation briefly touched on The Princeton Fire. We hope to soon interview local residents of different ages who remember the explosion from their different points of view. If you or your neighbors have an interesting story to tell about Princeton History, please contact us. We would like to hear from you!
